Confluence Tower Interpretive Landscape
Village of Hartford, Illinois
The project involves the design of an Interpretive Landscape around the site of the Lewis & Clark Confluence Tower, constructed to commemorate the famed explorers departure westward from nearby Camp River Dubois. Situated near the confluence of the Illinois, Missouri and Mississippi Rivers, the site is approximately three acres. Proposed development includes walking trails, picnic area with tensile shade structure, site furnishings, landscape development with an emphasis on natives (including tree/shrub plantings, wetland plantings and prairie plantings) and interpretive signing.
