Family Sports Park Phase 3 Development
O'Fallon, Illinois
In the summer of 2007 the City of O’Fallon, Illinois dedicated the first two development phases of the Family Sports Park (see the project description at the “Parks and Recreation” tab). The facilities have been use extensively since the dedication and the reviews from city operations and visitors to the complex have surpassed expectations. From the tournament softball/multipurpose fields and soccer fields to the community park shelters and playground to the open space and extensive trail system, the quality of the new facilities have been heralded by all.
PDS is currently designing the project’s third phase of development. This phase will include a second 4-plex of softball/multiuse fields with comfort stations and concessions, two championship lighted soccer fields, an additional comfort station and concession for the soccer complex. The plans include an extensive water playground, group picnic pavilions, additional parking and completion of the two-mile greenway around the 200-acre site.
Construction began in the spring of 2010 and completion is set for the summer of 2011.
