The City of Richmond Heights selected Planning Design Studio to lead a design team tasked with creating development strategies for outdoor park and recreation facilities at the “Heights” Community Center, which includes the community library.

Using a collaborative planning process, the project team initially worked with the City to develop a community-wide internet based survey to collect information on community needs and priorities. With this background information, concepts were generated for improvements to the city’s park and recreation offerings. The planning process also included a detailed look at expansion opportunities for the community center and library, both of which occupy the same building. Input from the community was achieved through a series of public meetings designed to solicit input on the suggested improvements.

Refinements to the concepts were completed based on the feedback received and the final recommendations were presented in a final, concise final report.
