Increasing traffic demands at the Olive Boulevard and I-270 interchange necessitated a major reconfiguration and reconstruction by MoDOT into a single point urban interchange. A visioning level master plan was developed for a significant community gateway including pedestrian, bicycle, aesthetic, and landscape improvements. Several public engagement sessions solicited input that molded the development program and framework plan.

Final design and construction documents were completed and packaged with MoDOT’s interchange bid documents. Services were completed by PDS staff while employees of Parsons, the design firm of record. These enhancements have improved pedestrian access, readability of the road environment, and overall aesthetics; in addition to promoting multi-modal transportation opportunities and providing a sense of community identity and pride.
