St. Louis University - Cook Hall Entry & Green Space
St. Louis, Missouri
Landscape architectural design and construction period services were completed to develop a major campus green space associated with the expansion of St. Louis University’s Business School. The new primary entry into Cook Hall includes a plaza with a three-tiered water feature falling from the plaza. The fountain is flanked by two formal grand stairways. A large events patio was developed adjacent to, and visually compatible with, the Historic Cupples House, located at the other end of the new building. The large green space developed between the formal entry and patio provides a casual gathering space for students.
The primary design element is a water feature that starts as a fountain then flows into a natural stream with pools and waterfalls. Seating areas were developed along the stream using natural rock walls. These services were led and completed by PDS Staff while employees of Parsons, the site design firm of record.
