This visioning level master plan reconfigures and reconstructs the heavily trafficked interchange at I-270 and Olive Boulevard into a single-point urban interchange.  Several public engagement sessions gathered input that molded the development program and framework plan.

The enhancements were coordinated with the Missouri Department of Transportation’s interchange reconstruction to better accommodate traffic, improve pedestrian access, improve the readability of the road environment and promote multimodal transportation opportunities.  The design improved the interchange’s aesthetics and provides a sense of community identity and pride. 

Interchange improvements include pedestrian walks, bridge fascia enhancements, surface texturing and coloring, bridge deck median planters, decorative street lighting, ornamental fencing, entry pylons, landscape plantings and an irrigation system.
