Planning Design Studio serves as the Parkway School District’s on-call landscape architects as part of the district’s initiative for improving sustainability and resource conservation.  PDS employs the principles of low-impact design and the Sustainable Sites Initiative program to create sustainable landscapes for Parkway properties.

PDS has created master plans for a high school courtyard, detailed landscape plans at elementary schools and high schools, and planned native prairie planting areas at several locations.  With a team of ecologists, PDS visited each of the District’s raingardens, assessed their condition, and recommended improvements with continuing maintenance guidelines.
