Cost Estimating and Implementation Planning

The design for Rogers Parkway strengthens the pedestrian links across major roadways by proposing safe, under-the-street tunnels at several crossing points. The plan also proposes the elimination of one of two parallel roadways flanking the parkway and reconfiguring the other to maximize the green space.  PDS has also proposed new activities for the parkway – such as ice skating, sculptural playgrounds, and a trolley memorial – that will enrich the experience for users.

The Rogers Parkway renewal is central to a city-wide initiative to connect people to city attractions. The parkway links: the regional Deer Creek Greenway, a redevelopment area that improves flood-prone Manchester Road, four city parks, and several key community facilities – such as city hall and the library, the community center, and Brentwood Swim Club.
