Planning Design Studio has worked with the City of Ellisville for many years after initially completing the citywide parks and recreation master plan. One of the priorities identified in that study was the need to make improvements to the existing amphitheater in Bluebird Park.
 

The improvements were master planned with extensive public input and constructed in two phases with funding support from several St. Louis County Municipal Park Grants. The first phase of design and construction included a shelter over the existing amphitheater stage. The second phase created new terraced seating, accessibility improvements, decorative pavement, and a shade structure over the upper plaza seating area.
