Entry-Level Landscape Architect
Job Summary
Planning Design Studio is seeking a Landscape Designer or Landscape Architect to join our talented team of individuals. We are a St. Louis-based design practice focused on improving the communities we work in by creating world-class outdoor places. Our firm’s culture emphasizes strong communication, teamwork, professional growth, and personal expression. We work in a flexible environment that strives to balance the needs of the firm and the individual. Our studio space is located in Maplewood, Missouri, a historic suburb of St. Louis that is home to the nation’s first Green Dining District and vibrant independent shops that create an exciting and livable community.
Job Requirements
We need people with a well-rounded grasp of the fundamentals of landscape architecture and a strong desire to be involved in projects that move from idea to reality. Technical knowledge and excellent organizational skills are important, as well as being a collaborator and someone who enjoys working in teams. This position is for full-time employment (40 hours per week).
For these positions, we are looking for an applicant who holds the following skills, knowledge, and qualifications:

A bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited landscape architecture program

Strong analytical, planning, design, and technical skills

Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MS Word, Excel, Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign), and SketchUp

Exceptional written and verbal communication skills are necessary

Initiative-taker who enjoys a stimulating work environment and can contribute to achieving successful project completion

Our office is nestled in the charming downtown area of Maplewood, a historic suburb of St. Louis. The neighborhood is home to the Nation's First Green Dining District and many small independent shops that create an exciting and livable community. Coffee shops and lunch spots are all in easy walking distance from the office as well as Sutton Loop Park, a park master plan project that Planning Design Studio had the pleasure of working on.
