Planning Design Studio came aboard in the third phase of this project transforming a 500-acre historic farm into a public park.  Working with a team of engineers and architects, PDS converted the site’s old farmhouse into a contemporary visitor’s center with small group meeting spaces, a field office for park rangers, and a patio overlooking a picturesque fishing lake.

PDS designed a road and bridge connecting a previously developed area of the park with a new and more accessible park entrance. On a hilltop overlooking the lake, we created a shelter complex with new pavilions, playground equipment, restrooms, and a large gathering plaza and fire pit. To further enhance the park experience, we added a trail and boardwalk around the lake, a lakeside picnic shelter, composting restrooms and native plant landscaping.
