The Family Sports Park is a 200-acre regional destination that includes 20 lighted sports fields for soccer, baseball and softball, restrooms, concessions and multipurpose pavilions.  This facility serves as both a tournament quality sports facility and a community park.  The community park features a site for a future community center, a destination spray ground with a natural stream feature, a 10-acre lake, playgrounds, picnic pavilions, open space, and a two mile multiuse trail encircling the site.

Planning Design Studio staff created the overall site master plan, then designed and oversaw the implementation of the 6,000 square foot spray ground, two playground areas, an open pavilion, a simulated rocky stream with waterfalls, pebble rock surfacing, and rock ledge for sitting and climbing.  This unique project was featured in the publication Landscape Architect & Specifier News.

In a later project phase, PDS created the concept design and programming for the community center, called the RecPlex, which includes indoor and outdoor aquatic centers, a gymnasium and fitness center, and a fine arts studio.
