Planning Design Studio developed a streetscape design intended to increase pedestrian connectivity between the Missouri Botanical Garden entry and its satellite parking areas. The project highlights sustainable streetscape design methods, and a strong visual identity for the garden’s entryway corridor, all while preserving the established character of the surrounding neighborhood.

Pedestrian accessibility is improved with widened sidewalks, pedestrian lighting, street trees and signage.  Entry corner plazas are planted with Missouri native species.  Ornamental fencing walls delineate the space in an attractive manner.  The streetscape's sustainability is increased through permeable pavement, raingardens and incorporation of recycled materials.
