After months of fabrication, the three pedestrian bridges at Bella Fontaine County Park were installed! All three were fabricated in Alabama and transported to the project site. Each bridge was delivered in two sections on special trailers. Once offloaded, the bridges were bolted together on the ground so they could be set in one large section onto the abutments.
The bridge lengths are 130' for Bridge 1, 115' for Bridge 2 (shown in the video) and 100' for Bridge 3. The bridges were lifted by a 300-ton crane. The crane operator and steel erectors did an amazing job orchestrating the lifts in some very constrained conditions, including overhead powerlines on both sides of the Bridge 2 & 3 locations!
