On Thursday, January 30, the City of Washington, Missouri and Planning Design Studio hosted a public meeting regarding the Washington Parks & Recreation Master Plan. The event saw a strong turnout, with 86 local residents coming together to discuss the future of their community’s parks and recreational facilities.

The meeting provided an opportunity for residents to hear directly from the project team, who offered an in-depth look at the progress of the new, innovative Parks & Recreation Master Plan. Andrew Franke, Principal and Founding Member of Planning Design Studio, presented at the meeting and was accompanied by Ian Clark. The team shared information from the first phases of the project along with the feedback that was given through the online survey, which received 567 responses.
The Washington Parks & Recreation Master Plan is part of a larger effort to modernize and expand public spaces across the city. With input from residents, the plan aims to enhance the accessibility, functionality, and beauty of parks and recreation facilities, while also considering the long-term environmental impact.
The project team is very thankful for all of the individuals who have participated in the public meetings and online survey. The input provided will further assist the project team with developing a master plan that is truly reflective of the community.
