Mississippi River Greenway
St. Louis City and County, Missouri
This 14-mile Greenway Master Plan was developed to link and expand two of GRG’s primary River Ring Greenways. The plan was developed along the River Des Peres (RDP) from I-55 to it’s confluence with the Mississippi River. The planning was then completed along the Mississippi River (MRG) all the way to the Meramec River at Telegraph Road. This greenway links 15 parks (including Carondelet, Lemay, Jefferson Barracks, Sylvan Springs, Cliff Cave and Bee Tree) as well as the City of St. Louis with Arnold and many communities in between.
Upon approval of the master plan from the Great Rivers Greenway and Saint Louis County Parks, Planning Design Studio prepared the final design construction documents for the project, estimated at $5 million.
Significant coordination efforts were conducted and successfully achieved with the Union Pacific Railroad, MSD, MODot, Saint Louis County, Union Electric and the local fire district.
